League House Keeping

Time to tune up the cars folks, a new season is upon us...

New slick rules
I've re-written the race charter. Or at least sanitised it to reflect the way we've raced (why change our perfect racing eh).
In addition I have also had a stab at handling network dropouts so we're not left trying to restart long endurance races.
I've also tidied up the rules around cars, see below...

The car's the star
Expect three standard driver's car classes (like our 587pp roadies) along side the usage of the in game pre-set cars. These classes to be announced soon!
Also, I've included a definition of what a road car is, and put in an exclusion around F1 and X-Type cars in the league charter.

Tracks
We'll continue as we are, with potential for a designer courses - especially on non-league nights. If a designer course is slated for a league night, plenty of forewarning and practice time (they can be downloaded) will be available.

Enough talk what can we expect?
  • Street racing.
  • Some longer races - we liked the endurance races I think.
  • Something very American.
  • None of the following: Rally, kart, banger - they were all shite this season.
  • Arrive and drive - racing stock cars, no need to tune a car up.

And when can we expect it?
A couple of weeks non-league racing is a good idea I think.
I've put together a new race-log (I'll send out the completed last one), and I'll find a spot to host it presently, but here are the tentative dates (Thursday night remains race night!):
  1. 29 March (Practice Race)
  2. 12 April
  3. 26 April
  4. 10 May
  5. 24 May
  6. 7 June
  7. 21 June
  8. 5 July
  9. 19 July
Usual off weeks are non-league race nights for fun. Please do let me know if this setup is going to cause any major problems, we can shuffle.

Members only please
I think running a reasonably closed league (no late comers) worked reasonably well, certainly we all got to know each other's driving habits.
To keep the league alive I've invited some colleagues from my new work (do I have to rename the league?). I'll also say that any other FCL employees are welcome. I'll remove Adam though (he's not been in touch since moving on).
This means that currently we have six racers, though George has already mentioned he's going to be busy a lot soon... Our maximum league size won't be past ten members, so don't invite the world, but obviously a few more are most welcome..

Bernie Bernie Bernie...
I take it that we'll continue with my running of this side of the league, I enjoy it and I think this works better than a round-robin approach to organising the racing. Comments welcome.

That's it folks, race on!
