FCT GT5 League Race #0 Winter Season

Oh yes...
It's the start of the new season and what race we have to start with...

The circuit:

Nurburgring GP/F - Iconic, historic, and not nearly as long as the other half...
This track is new to the league this season, so apart from Paul (no pressure) who uses this as a reference/practice track we'll all be in the same boat, and speaking of boats...

The car:

That's right Merc SLS AMG '10. A German car on a German race track - expect to be met with a few beach towels on the start line.
Anyway, you probably don't have this car, so how do you practice?

Arcade!
On the very opening title screen, go into arcade mode and select the GP/F track, then select arcade cars - it's in there, towards the bonkers end of the car list (Yes, I tried the Zonda R, it wouldn't be fun).
As an aside, this is a fine way to practice with cars such as the GT500/JGTC skyline and supra as they'll be the same engine spec as the one's in the races we have.

Official Race Info:
Event Date: 29-Mar-2012
Time: 9:00 PM
Race Starts: 9:15 PM
Lounge: FCT GT5 Andrew
Track: Nurburgring GP/F
Laps: 4
Car: Mercedes SLS AMG '10 (arrive and drive)
Tyres: Race Medium

Other info
Paul will tell us that a sorted 587pp car can hit the two minute mark around here. This isn't a whole lot slower, except.... we'll be doing it on medium tyres. They're just more fun like that!

We'll certainly not be using high boost in this race. Plan is to use low boost, but if we have too much shunting expect to go to no boost and/or high penalties. Be warned and be safe (to others) - a reminder is that if you've out braked yourself you should take to the grass and avoid a smash with the other racers, simple kinetics means that if you don't folks are going to crash as a result of your action.... having said this, accidents happen and apologies should always be accepted.

Looking forward to a top night's racing again folks...
