League Race #2 Toscana Road - Exotique

Small field last night - possibly a sign of the times as I know a few of us have commitments that are creeping in.

Still, I reckon the racing was excellent. That's such a hard track to master and it's so easy to go from hero to zero in two corners. Marvellous.

Official results:

Race 1:
1. Evan
2. Chris
3. Andrew
4. Paul

Race 2:
1. Andrew
2. Chris
3. Evan
4. Paul

The results don't tell us that there was a 2:03 laptime in race one, and a 2:00 laptime in race two - blinding speed no doubt about that.

In race one we had two R8's - possibly the ideal car for that track. Less ideal you'd think would be the Camero (it was a Camero wasn't it?) that Evan had - but a good stable racing platform pulled through and won the race. It's proving that a fast car isn't necessarily a winning car.
And enter my LFA. It was indeed a fast car. A very fast car. Alas, cornering is something I've managed to dial out of it quite successfully...
Imagine the rush I get as I sprint up and past Chris's tuned R8 like he's stood still, only to then clip grass and spend half a straight watching scenery. Very annoying, and maybe a rematch at some point in the future - I reckon that LFA could win it easily if I back off a bit when racing!

Race two had two skylines, Chris and Myself. Not sure who of the four of us managed a two minute laptime, but it does reflect just how intense that race was.

Here's some pics from race one, vid to follow this weekend:
As it should be (or rather should have been)

Chris's Team Green Machine

My, errr, Pink Car.

After races

A blat around Toscana in TC500 cars highlighted how slow they feel compared to our 587 pp cars, and that we're all ready for a break from that track...

Then we went and had a go at Suzuka in TC500's and then a trail run in 650Open class - Rod joined us for these two races in body and probably spirits (or maybe beer). Turns out that a road going Mclaren F1 isn't all that compared to the race cars - time to spend up chap - next race is racing at Suzuka.
I think for me it was a bit of a highlight though, it's such high paced racing and such lovely cars...

I'll upload the vid of this race too I think, it was good racing!

Remember folks, it's a league night again next week - we slipped a week in the last race. So next calendar event is only a week away!
